Knowing your pet needs to have surgery is one of the worst possible feelings for a pet parent. Whether it’s a complex pet surgery or a simple, everyday procedure, it’s never easy to see your loved one go through something like this. At Wyomissing Animal Hospital, your pets are in great hands. Our team of veterinarians are extensively knowledgeable and treat each of their patients as if they are their only patient. Our hospital has been performing surgery for over 25 years and is the best choice when your furry loved one needs special care.
Our Most Common Veterinary Surgeries
Our Berks County pet surgical team performs pet surgery every day and is well equipped to handle almost any need your pet has. Below are some of the most common surgeries we offer, but if there is something else your pet requires, don’t hesitate to discuss it with us.
Before & After Pet Surgery
Prior to your pet’s surgery, we will perform an examination before administering anesthesia. We also highly recommend that your pet has blood work done prior to the procedure to detect any potential underlying issues. We want to ensure the surgery goes as smoothly as possible.
Following the procedure, we will monitor your pet until the anesthesia wears off and they are fully awake. In most cases, he or she will be released the same day. In some instances, they may require additional monitoring. We’ll discuss how the veterinary surgery went with you, what you should expect, and the proper post-surgical care you should provide.
Our soft-tissue surgeries include:
- Spay and neuter
- Cat Declaw Surgery
- Tumor removals and biopsies
- Abdominal surgery of the stomach and intestinal tract
- Bladder surgery
- Amputations
- Eye and eyelid surgery
- Oral surgery
- Reproductive tract surgery including cesarean sections
Our orthopedic surgeries include:
- Fracture repair
- Knee ligament repair
